2.24.010 Library director.

The library director, under the supervision of the borough mayor, shall direct the services and perform all administrative tasks necessary for the efficient and economical conduct of the library. (Ord. 75-40 § 2, 1975. 2004 Code § 2.32.042.)

2.24.020 Internet filters.

A. The library director, under the supervision of the borough mayor, shall implement a policy of Internet safety for all patrons and employees that includes the operation of Internet filtering software on every library computer with Internet access. The Internet filtering software must protect against anyone’s access through any such library computers to:

1. Visual depictions that are obscene;

2. Child pornography; and/or

3. Any other material harmful to minors.

B. The library director, or the director’s designee, shall temporarily disable Internet filtering software on a library computer to allow an adult unfiltered Internet access for any lawful purpose.

C. The terms “child pornography,” “harmful to minors,” “minor,” and “obscene” shall have the meanings provided under 20 USC Section 9134(f)(7). (Ord. 2003-51 § 2, 2003. 2004 Code § 2.32.052.)
