2.20.010 Appointment – Duties.
The assembly shall elect a clerk or appoint the mayor or another administrative officer to serve as the clerk. Under the supervision of the assembly, the clerk shall do the following:
A. Give due notice of the time and place of assembly meetings to assemblymembers and to the public;
B. Keep the journal of the assembly proceedings;
C. Procure for the assembly any required publication of notices, ordinances, resolutions, and so forth;
D. Maintain and make available for public inspection an indexed file containing copies of the borough code, every adopted ordinance, resolution, code, rule, regulation, code of regulations, and all bonds, contracts and bids;
E. Perform the duties assigned him by any of the provisions of this title; and
F. Perform such other duties as the assembly may prescribe. (Ord. 83-126 § 2, 1983; prior code § 11.10.050(b))
2.20.020 Records management.
The borough clerk shall be the records management officer of the borough and shall provide for the efficient storage of borough records. The clerk shall develop policies and procedures for the storage, retention and destruction of borough records. (Ord. 80-39 § 2, 1980)
2.20.030 Deputy borough clerk – Appointment – Duties.
There is established the position of deputy borough clerk in the totally exempt service. The borough assembly is authorized to appoint or remove the deputy borough clerk who shall have the duty to execute, attest and acknowledge all documents required by the borough clerk, and to affix the seal of the borough. In signing any documents, the deputy borough clerk shall affix the name of the borough clerk followed by the word “by” and the deputy borough clerk’s own signature and title. (Ord. 83-71 § 2, 1983)
