LAND MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION

2.80.010 Commission established.

There is established the land management advisory commission consisting of seven members. Six members shall be appointed by the borough mayor and confirmed by the assembly. The assembly shall designate one member. Members shall be appointed with due regard to their interest or expertise in land management issues. (Ord. 2000-23 § 2, 2000)

2.80.020 Commission responsibilities.

The commission shall:

A. Serve in an advisory capacity to the mayor, assembly and the department of land management. It shall provide input on long-term policy issues;

B. Conduct a periodic review of land management policies and procedures as they affect the borough residents. This review shall assess the role of the municipal entitlement land and the land enterprise fund in the development of the borough and recommend the policies and procedures which most efficiently and effectively support that role. The land enterprise fund shall be examined as a permanent source of financial support of departmental activities and for periodic contributions to the general fund;

C. Make recommendations on policy or program changes for the department to meet the goals and objectives developed through the review efforts. (Ord. 2000-23 § 2, 2000)

2.80.030 Terms of office.

Members of the land management advisory commission shall serve a term of three years or until a successor is appointed and qualified, except the assembly appointee. The terms of the commission members shall be staggered so that two terms will expire each year. The assembly appointee shall be appointed for a one-year term, and may be reappointed if the appointee still serves on the assembly. (Ord. 2000-23 § 2, 2000)

2.80.040 Organization.

The commission shall annually elect a chair and vice chair from the members appointed by the mayor and shall adopt rules for the conduct of its meetings. Robert’s Rules of Order shall apply unless the commission adopts different rules. (Ord. 2000-23 § 2, 2000)
