The keeper shall immediately notify the animal control officer if a potentially dangerous or dangerous dog is at large, unconfined, has attacked another animal or a human being, or has died, been sold, been given away, or is otherwise no longer in the possession of the keeper. If the dog has been sold or given away, the keeper shall provide the officer with the name, address and telephone number of the new keeper or custodian who, if located in the city and borough, shall comply with the requirements previously applied to the dog and the requirements of this chapter.
