DAMAGING OR POLLUTING STREETS AND SIDEWALKS

10.04.010    Walking, riding or driving over newly made or marked-off streets and sidewalks.

10.04.010 Walking, riding or driving over newly made or marked-off streets and sidewalks.

No person shall drive any motor vehicle or other vehicle, or walk over or upon any newly paved streets or sidewalks, or part thereof closed or marked off by barriers to vehicular or pedestrian traffic; or over or upon any street or sidewalk or part thereof where there is any sign warning persons not to drive or walk over or upon such street or sidewalk or part thereof.

10.04.020 Spilling oil on streets and sidewalks.

Every person transporting or delivering any fuel oil or other oil shall immediately clear and thoroughly clean, or cause to be cleared and thoroughly cleaned, every public sidewalk, sidewalk area, footpath, street, highway or other public thoroughfare, and every part of parts thereof, on which he has caused or allowed such oil to overflow or spill.

10.04.030 Unlawful installation of oil pipes or other objects in the street or sidewalk.

No person shall place, install or maintain, or permit to be placed, installed or maintained, in or upon any public roadway or sidewalk, or any place adjacent thereto, any oil or water intake pipe or part thereof, or any other pipe, object or thing or part thereof, which extends above the surface of any such roadway or sidewalk. Every such oil or water intake pipe thereof, and every other pipe, object or thing or part thereof, which so extends above the surface of any such roadway or sidewalk is hereby declared a common and public nuisance, and may be summarily removed by any police officer of the municipality.

10.04.040 Damaging surface of street or sidewalk.

No person shall do any act or thing which in any way mars, injures or damages the surface or other part of any roadway or sidewalk within the municipality.

10.04.050 Depositing dirt, rubbish or other objects on street or sidewalk.

Excepting in the manner authorized during such times that may by the mayor be declared a cleanup period, no person shall place or deposit, or permit to be placed or deposited, or aid or assist in placing or depositing any dirt, rubbish or other objects or things in or upon any public roadway or sidewalk.

10.04.060 State provision adopted--Confinement of loads.

The Municipality of Skagway hereby adopts by reference the provisions of A.S. 28.35.251, contained or confined loads, which will be enforced in the municipality.
