1.01.010 Adoption.

The Wasilla Municipal Code, as compiled, edited, and published by Book Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington, is adopted as the codification of ordinances of the city required by Alaska Statutes 29.25.050. (Ord. 01-01 § 2, 2001)

1.01.020 Title—Citation—Reference.

The codification of the ordinances of the city adopted by the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be known as the “Wasilla Municipal Code” and it shall be sufficient to refer to said codification as the Wasilla Municipal Code in any prosecution for the violation of any provision thereof or in any proceeding at law or equity. It shall be sufficient to designate any ordinance adding to, amending, correcting or repealing all or any part or portion thereof as an addition to, amendment to, correction or repeal of the Wasilla Municipal Code. References may be made to the titles, chapters, sections and subsections set forth in the Wasilla Municipal Code and such references shall apply to those titles, chapters, sections, and subsections as they appear in the Wasilla Municipal Code. 1.01.030 Reference applies to all amendments.

Whenever a reference is made to the Wasilla Municipal Code or to any portion thereof, or to any ordinance of the city codified therein, the reference shall include and apply to all amendments, corrections and additions heretofore, now or hereafter made. (Ord. 01-01 § 4, 2001)

1.01.040 Ordinances adopted prior to adoption of the code.

The last ordinance included in the compilation of the Wasilla Municipal Code was Ordinance Serial No. 00-31, adopted on April 10, 2000. The following ordinances, adopted subsequent to Ordinance Serial No. 00-31, but prior to adoption of the Wasilla Municipal Code, are hereby adopted and made a part of the Wasilla Municipal Code: Ordinance Serial Nos. 00-37, 00-52, 00-57, 00-59, 00-60 and 00-61 (SUB). 1.01.050 Effect of code on past actions and obligations.

The adoption of the Wasilla Municipal Code does not affect prosecutions for ordinance violations committed prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter,* does not waive any fee or penalty due and unpaid on the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, and does not affect the validity of any contract, obligation, bond or cash deposit posted, executed, incurred, filed or deposited pursuant to the requirements of any ordinance. 1.01.060 References to prior code.

References in city forms, documents and regulations to a chapter or section of the former city code shall be construed to apply to the corresponding chapter or section of the Wasilla Municipal Code. (Ord. 01-01 § 7, 2001)
