(a) Complaints Regarding Violations. Whenever a violation occurs, any person may file a complaint in regard thereto. All such complaints shall be brought to the attention of the zoning official, who shall record such complaint and immediately investigate and report thereon to the borough manager. If the zoning official finds that any of the provisions of this title are being violated, notification in writing shall be provided to the person responsible for such violations, indicating the nature of the violation and ordering the action necessary to correct it. The zoning official shall order discontinuance of illegal uses of land, buildings or structures; discontinuance of any illegal work being done; or shall take any other action authorized by this title to ensure compliance with or to prevent violation of its provisions, consistent with KGBC 18.30.030 on nonconforming lots, structures, etc.

(b) Penalties for Violations. For any and every violation of the provisions of this title, the owner, agent or contractor of a building or premises where such violations have been committed or shall exist, or any other person who maintains any building or premises in which any violation shall exist, shall be guilty of a violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $500.00. Each and every day that such violation continues shall be deemed a separate and distinct violation. Any building or structure set up, erected, built, moved or maintained or any use of property contrary to the provisions of this title shall be declared to be unlawful and a public nuisance, and the borough manager shall immediately commence action for the removal thereof, in the manner provided by law, and shall apply to such court or courts as may have jurisdiction to remove such building, structure or use.
