Article I. Judicial Township

1.08.010 Township Nos. 1 and 2 consolidated—Boundaries designated.

Judicial Township Nos. 1 and 2 are hereby consolidated and the county shall consist of one judicial township to be known as numbered Township No. 1; and the boundary lines of the county shall constitute the boundary lines of said Township No. 1. (Ord. 103 1, 1909)

Article II. Supervisorial Districts

1.08.020 Designated—Statutory Authority.

The board of supervisors of the county does ordain that in conformity with Sections 35000, 35003, 35004 and 35006 of the Elections Code, and pertinent sections of the Government Code, the five supervisorial districts of the county each shall hereafter encompass that area within the county as fixed by this chapter. 1.08.030 District Number One—Boundaries.

Supervisorial District Number One shall contain all that area within the county of Alpine described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the Alpine County and Douglas County, Nevada, boundary where the centerline of the East Fork of the Carson River crosses the California-Nevada state line; thence in a southerly direction along the California-Nevada state line to a point on the state line common to Alpine County and Mono County; thence southerly along the Alpine-Mono County line to the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains; thence northerly along the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains to the intersection with the west section line of Section 26, T 9 N, R 19 E; thence northerly along the west section line of said Section 26 to the south line of Section 23, T 9 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along the south line of said Section 23 to the southwest corner of Section 23; thence northerly along the west lines of Sections 23, 14, 11 and 2 in T 9 N, R 19 E; thence continuing northerly along the west lines of Sections 35, 26, 23 and 14 in T 10 N, R 19 E, to the northwest corner of said Section 14; thence easterly along the north section lines of Sections 14, 13, T 10 N, R 19 E, and continuing along the north section lines of Sections 18, 17, 16 and 15, T 10 N, R 20 E, to the center of the East Fork of the Carson River; thence along the centerline of the East Fork of the Carson River to the California-Nevada state line, being the point of beginning. 1.08.040 District Number Two—Boundaries.

Supervisorial District Number Two shall contain all that area within the county of Alpine described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the county line common to Alpine and El Dorado Counties where the county line intersects the range line common to R 17 E and R 18 E; thence south along said range line to the intersection with State Highway 88; thence easterly along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains at Carson Pass; thence southeasterly along the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains to the west section line of Section 26, T 9 N, R 19 E; thence northerly along the west section line of said Section 26 to the south line of Section 23, T 9 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along the south line of said Section 23 to the southwest corner of Section 23; thence northerly along the west lines of Sections 23, 14, 11 and 2 in T 9 N, R 19 E; thence continuing northerly along the west lines of Sections 35, 26, 23 and 14 in T 10 N, R 19 E, to the northwest corner of said Section 14; thence easterly along the north section lines of Sections 14, 13, T 10 N, R 19 E, and continuing along the north section lines of Sections 18, 17, 16 and 15, T 10 N, R 20 E, to the center of the East Fork of the Carson River; thence along the centerline of the East Fork of the Carson River to the California-Nevada state line; thence northwesterly along the California-Nevada state line to the intersection with the centerline of Mud Lake Road, County Road No. 179; thence southerly along the centerline of Mud Lake Road to the intersection with the centerline of Diamond Valley Road; County Road No. 3; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Diamond Valley Road to intersection with the westerly section lines of Section 36, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence north along the westerly section lines of Section 36 and 25, T 11 N, R 19 E, to the centerline of Carson River Road, County Road No. 198; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Carson River Road to the intersection with California State Highway 88; thence westerly along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the intersection with the Township line between T 10 N and T 11 N; thence westerly along said Township line to the southwest corner of Section 33, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence northerly along the west section lines of Sections 33, 28 and 21 to the section corner common to Sections 16, 17, 20 and 21, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along the south section lines of Sections 17 and 18, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence along the range line between R 18 E and R 19 E, to the southeast corner of Section 12, T 11 N, R 18 E; thence westerly along the south section line of said Section 12 to the westerly Alpine County line common with El Dorado County; thence southwesterly along the Alpine-El Dorado County line to the point of beginning. 1.08.050 District Number Three—Boundaries.

Supervisorial District Number Three shall contain all that area within the county of Alpine described as follows:

Beginning at a point being the intersection of Diamond Valley Road, County Road No. 3, with Carson River road, County Road No. 198; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Carson River Road to the north line of the south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of Section 24, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along said north line to the intersection with the centerline of State Highway 88; thence southwesterly along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the intersection with the north-south quarter section line of said Section 24; thence south along the north-south quarter section lines of Sections 24 and 25, T 11 N, R 19 E, to the intersection with Carson River Road, County Road No. 198; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Carson River Road to the westerly section line of Section 25, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence south along the westerly section lines of Sections 25 and 36, in T 11 N, R 19 E, to the intersection with Diamond Valley Road, County Road No. 3; thence northeasterly along the centerline of Diamond Valley Road to the point of beginning. 1.08.060 District Number Four—Boundaries.

Supervisorial District Number Four shall contain all that area within the county of Alpine described as follows:

Beginning at a point located where the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains meets the southern Alpine County line; thence northwesterly along the Alpine County line to the adjoining counties of Tuolumne, Calaveras, Amador, and El Dorado, to the intersection of the county line common to Alpine and El Dorado Counties where it intersects the range line common to R 17 E and R 18 E; thence south along said range line to the intersection with State Highway 88; thence easterly along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains at Carson Pass; thence southwesterly along the crest of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains to the point of beginning. 1.08.070 District Number Five—Boundaries.

Supervisorial District Number Five shall contain all that area within the county of Alpine described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of Mud Lake Road, County Road No. 179, with the Alpine County and Douglas County, Nevada, boundary where the centerline of Mud Lake Road crosses the California-Nevada state line; thence southerly along the centerline of Mud Lake Road, to the intersection with Diamond Valley Road, County Road No. 3; thence northwesterly along the centerline of Diamond Valley Road to the intersection with Carson River Road, County Road No. 198; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Carson River Road to the north line of the south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of Section 24, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along said north line to the intersection with the centerline of State Highway 88; thence southwesterly along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the intersection with the quarter section line of said Section 24; thence south along the quarter section line of Sections 24 and 25, T 11 N, R 19 E, to the intersection with Carson River Road, County Road No. 198; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Carson River Road to the intersection with California State Highway 88; thence along the centerline of State Highway 88 to the intersection with the township line between T ION and T 11 N; thence westerly along said township line to the southwest corner of Section 33, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence northerly along the west section lines of Section 33, 28 and 21 to the section corner common to Sections 16, 17, 20 and 21, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence westerly along the south section lines of Sections 17 and 18, T 11 N, R 19 E; thence along the range line between R 18 E and R 19 E, to the southeast corner of Section 12, T 11 N, R 18 E; thence westerly along the south section line of said Section 12 to the westerly Alpine County line common with El Dorado County; thence northerly along said county line to the California-Nevada state line; thence southerly along the California-Nevada state line to the point of beginning of Mud Lake Road.
