7.12.010 Unlawful to keep animal with certain contagious diseases.
It is unlawful for any person to keep, within the county, any domestic animal known to be afflicted with glanders, farcy, anthrax, tuberculosis, splenic or splenic fever, or any contagious or infectious or incurable disease. (Ord. 90 §1, 1899).
7.12.020 Disposal of animals with certain diseases.
Every domestic animal within the county having the glanders, farcy or tuberculosis, shall at once be deprived of life by the owner or person having charge thereof upon discovery or knowledge of its condition. (Ord. 90 §2, 1899).
7.12.030 Sale or shipment of diseased animal prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person who shall have in his possession any domestic animal affected with any contagious or infectious disease, knowing such animal to be sold affected, or having received notice of the fact that such animal is so affected, to permit such animal to run at large, or to keep such animal where other domestic animals not affected by its contagion or infection shall be exposed thereto, or to ship, sell, drive, ride, trade or give away such diseased animals, or to use, or to permit to be used, or to give away or sell or otherwise dispose of for use any of the products of such animal or animals. 7.12.040 Sale of milk from diseased animal prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale, or to use, or give away, within the county, any milk drawn from any cow known to be affected with tuberculosis, anthrax or other contagious or infectious disease. (Ord. 90 §4, 1899).
7.12.050 Sale of diseased meat, poultry or fish prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale, or to use or give away, within the county, any meat, poultry, fish or game which is either wholly or partly putrid, decomposed or diseased. (Ord. 90 §5, 1899).
7.12.060 Dairies to be kept in sanitary condition.
All dairies or other places within the county where cows are kept for the purpose of supplying milk to be sold, shall be kept in a clean and proper sanitary condition, and all cans and other vessels used in or about said dairies or other places where cows are kept for the purpose of supplying milk to be sold, shall be thoroughly sterilized with boiling water at least once a day. (Ord. 90 §6, 1899).
7.12.070 Slaughterhouse and markets to be kept in sanitary condition.
All slaughterhouses, markets and other places within the county from which meat, poultry, fish or game are supplied for human food shall be kept in clean and proper sanitary condition. (Ord. 90 §7, 1899).
7.12.080 Animals to be supplied with wholesome water.
All animals kept for dairy purposes, or which are intended to be slaughtered for human food shall at all times be well supplied with good wholesome water. (Ord. 90 §8, 1899).
7.12.090 Violation--Penalty.
Any violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof may be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding fifty days, or by both. (Ord. 90 §9, 1899).
