8.12.010 General maintenance and sanitation.

Every person owning or operating a campground or tent space shall maintain such campground or tent space, and all permanent equipment in connection therewith, in a clean and sanitary condition and shall maintain the equipment in a state of good repair. (Ord. 125 §l, 1946)

8.12.020 Water supply.

An adequate supply of pure water for drinking and domestic purposes shall be supplied to meet the requirements of the campground or tent space. (Ord. 125 §2, 1946)

8.12.030 Removal of trailer wheels--Permanent emplacement.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation owning or operating a camp car and/or trailer located in a campground to remove or cause to have removed the wheels or any similar transporting devices from the camp car and/or trailer or otherwise to permanently fix it to the ground in a manner that would prevent the ready removal of the camp car and/or trailer. 8.12.040 Dogs at large.

Dogs at no time shall be permitted to run at large in any campground or tent space. (Ord. 125 §4, 1946)

8.12.050 Toilets.

There shall be provided in every campground or tent space existing as of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, and every campground or tent space which may be established thereafter, one water closet for each sex. One of such water closets shall be distinctly marked "For Men" and one of such water closets shall be distinctly marked "For Women," and there shall be provided an additional water closet for each sex for every ten tents, camp cars and/or trailers or fractional part thereof in excess of ten tents, camp cars and/or trailers in the campground and/or tent space. 8.12.060 Baths.

There shall be provided in every campground or tent space existing as of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, and every campground or tent space which may thereafter by established, a shower bath equipped with hot and cold running water. Such shower bath shall be installed in a separate compartment from any water closet unit and there shall be provided an additional shower bath for every ten tents, camp cars and/or trailers or fractional part thereof in excess of ten tents, camp cars and/or trailers in the campground and/or tent space. 8.12.070 Toilet and shower construction.

The floors of every water closet or shower-bath compartment installed after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be constructed of cement or some other nonabsorbent material; the walls shall be a smooth waterproof material, and the interiors of all water closets or shower compartments shall be maintained in a sanitary condition at all times. 8.12.080 Garbage receptacles.

There shall be provided in every campground or tent space established before or after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, such number of metal receptacles with close-fitting metal covers for garbage, refuse, ashes and rubbish as may be deemed necessary by the city health department. Such receptacles shall at all times by maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. (Ord. 125 §8, 1946)

8.12.090 Slop sinks.

There shall be provided in every campground or tent space established before or after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter one or more slop sinks properly connected with the city sewer system or a cesspool or septic tank, such sinks to be conveniently located at no greater distance than one hundred feet from any camp car and/or trailer, or tent. 8.12.100 Drainage and wastewater disposal.

It is unlawful to deposit any wastewater, drainage or material from plumbing fixtures, including any such fixtures within any camp car and/or trailer, on the surface of any campground or tent space. All such fixtures, when in use, must be connected to the city sewer system or, in lieu thereof, they may be connected to a cesspool or septic tank constructed in a manner satisfactory to the city health department. 8.12.110 Lighting.

Every campground or tent space established before or after the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be provided with means of lighting the same at night, and all public water closets and bath units shall be provided with sufficient lighting facilities which shall be kept lighted during the time from one-half hour after sunset until one-half hour before sunrise. 8.12.120 Compliance responsibility--Violations.

It is the duty of every person, firm or corporation owning, leasing, renting or operating a campground or tent space in the city of Angels to comply with all of the provisions of this chapter and any such person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions thereof or disregarding any order of findings of the city council with respect to the campground or tent space, or contributing in any way to the violation of this chapter, is guilty of an infraction and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for the first violation, a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation within a year, and a fine not exceeding three hundred dollars for a third violation within the period of one year. The fourth and each successive violation of this chapter in the period of one year shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Each and every day or portion thereof on which any violation of this title is committed, continued or permitted by any person, firm or corporation shall constitute a separate violation of this chapter. (Ord. 276 §1, 1985: Ord. 125 §12, 1946)

8.12.130 Citation.

Any police officer may, in addition to the other enforcement powers permitted by law, issue citations pursuant to Penal Code Section 836.5, 853.5 and 853.6 for violations of this chapter. (Ord. 276 §2, 1985)
