2.04.010 Regular meetings.
The city council of the town shall hold a regular meeting at least once each month at a time and day specified by resolution. Meetings shall be held in the Town Hall, 94 Ashfield Road, in the town, or at such larger meeting place located within the corporate limits of the town, as determined by the city council. Notification of any change in the meeting date, time or place shall be by public notice published once in a newspaper of general circulation in the town at least seven days prior to the meeting; and posted on the town’s four official bulletin boards and posted on the council chamber doors at the time of the meeting. Special meetings may be called at any time by the mayor, or by three members of the city council, or by a petition bearing a minimum of one hundred signatures of adult residents of the town. 2.04.020 Voting procedure.
When the first roll call vote of a regular meeting is taken of the city council, the vice mayor shall vote first, then the remaining council members in order of their seniority on the basis of the consecutive length of time in such office and the mayor shall vote last. Succeeding roll call votes of the city council shall be rotated according to seniority with the mayor always voting last. In the event two or more council members shall have equal seniority on the council, the order of the roll call vote amongst them shall be determined on the basis of the greatest number of votes received in the most recent election in which all such equally senior councilmen were candidates. 2.04.030 Mayor and vice mayor—Appointment.
The city council shall meet at least annually to choose one of its members as mayor and one of its members as vice mayor. (Ord. 528 § 2, 2001; Ord. 394 (part), 1982: Ord. 383 Ch. 1(e) § 3, 1981)
2.04.040 Mayor and vice mayor—Term.
The term of office of the mayor and vice mayor shall be one year. No member shall serve as mayor or vice mayor for consecutive terms. (Ord. 513 § 1, 2000: Ord. 394 (part), 1982: Ord. 383 Ch. 1(e) § 4, 1981)
