12.04.010 Minimum requirements generally.

The provisions of this chapter shall be the minimum requirements for street construction in the town, and no street shall be accepted or constructed for public use which does not conform to this chapter. (Ord. 235 § 1, 1959)

12.04.020 Major residential street defined.

“Major residential street” means a street which normally will carry other than incidental residential traffic, as determined by the city council after recommendation by the city engineer. (Ord. 235 § 6, 1959)

12.04.030 Minimum street width.

A. The right-of-way of all streets dedicated in the town shall be of not less than the following minimum widths:

1. Major residential street, fifty feet;

2. Residential street, forty feet;

3. Cul-de-sac street less than three hundred feet in length, thirty feet.

B. Cul-de-sac streets shall have a turn-around space at the end thereof consisting of a circle of not less than eighty feet in diameter. (Ord. 235 § 2, 1959)

12.04.040 Surface improvement specifications.

Minimum specifications for surface street improvements shall be as follows:

A. On streets having grades of up to five percent, twenty-four-inch-wide flat concrete gutters; on grades over five percent, twenty-four-inch rolled concrete curbs;

B. Width of pavement between concrete gutter lips shall be eighteen feet in thirty-foot right-of-way, twenty feet in forty-foot right-of-way, twenty-four feet in fifty-foot right-of-way, and sixty feet diameter in a turning circle. (Ord. 235 § 3, 1959)

12.04.050 Paving specifications.

Minimum paving specifications shall be five-inch compacted thickness of cement treated base as specified in Section 17 of the state of California, Division of Highways Standard Specifications, dated August, 1954, with two inches of plant-mixed surfacing as specified in Section 20 of the standard specifications. Upon recommendation of the city engineer and specific approval of the city council, the surface pavement may consist of material other than plant-mix as specified in this section. 12.04.060 Drainage facilities required.

All streets shall be provided with drainage facilities adequate to protect the pavement and shoulders. (Ord. 235 § 5, 1959)
