HOLIDAYS AND BUSINESS HOURS

2.70.010 Holidays and business hours.

The city offices shall be open for the transaction of business from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day except as follows:

A. Every Sunday.

B. Every Saturday.

C. January 1st.

D. Third Monday in January (Martin Luther King’s birthday).

E. Third Monday in February (Presidents’ Day).

F. Last Monday in May (Memorial Day).

G. July 4th.

H. First Monday in September (Labor Day).

I. Second Monday in October (Columbus Day).

J. November 11th (Veterans Day).

K. Thanksgiving Day, which shall be the fourth Thursday in November unless otherwise appointed.

L. Friday following Thanksgiving Day.

M. December 24th (Christmas Eve).

N. December 25th (Christmas Day).

O. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed.

P. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed. [Ord. 92-14 § 1; Ord. 91-6; Code 1990 § 2.6.01.]

2.70.020 Changes by resolution.

The city council may, by resolution, alter the hours for which a city office may be open for the transaction of business, when those hours are at variance from those specified in CMC 2.70.010. [Ord. 91-6; Code 1990 § 2.6.02.]
