15.24.010 Purpose.

It is the purpose of this chapter to, where approved, allow the placement of manufactured housing on foundation systems pursuant to Section 18551 of the California Health and Safety Code, on lots zoned for single-family dwellings in the city, subject to the exception that no manufactured house shall be placed on any lot which is adjacent to, or abuts a historical landmark site as designated in the open space and conservation plan of the city. 15.24.020 Certification required.

Manufactured housing, in order to be subject to the provisions of this chapter, must be certified under the National Mobile Home Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974 (42 USC Section 5401, et seq.) or issued an insignia of approval by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Ord. 369-81 § 2, 1981)

15.24.030 Applicability.

No manufactured home shall be the subject of this chapter that has been altered in violation of applicable codes. (Ord. 369-81 § 3, 1981)

15.24.040 Requirements.

The manufactured home shall:

A. Be occupied only as a residential type use;

B. Be subject to all provisions of the zoning and subdivision ordinances applicable to residential structures;

C. Be attached to a permanent foundation system in compliance with all applicable building regulations;

D. The exterior covering material shall extend down in compliance with all applicable building regulations. (Ord. 369-81 § 4, 1981)

15.24.050 Certificate of occupancy.

Upon or subsequent to applying for the required building permits, and prior to occupancy, the owner shall furnish the information required by the department so that a certificate of occupancy may be issued pursuant to Section 18551 of the California Health and Safety Code. Thereafter, any vehicle license plate, certificate of ownership and certificate of registration issued by a state agency is to be surrendered to the appropriate state agencies. Any mobilehome which is permanently attached with underpinning or foundation to the ground must bear a California insignia or federal label, pursuant to Section 18550 (b) of the Health and Safety Code. 15.24.060 Design review application.
