SOLID FUEL SPACE HEATING DEVICES

15.32.010 Installation restrictions.

The new installation or replacement of either a woodburning stove, fireplace or fireplace insert or any other form of open or solid fuel space heating device in any building or structure in the city shall be permitted only on the following basis:

A. The stove, fireplace, insert or solid fuel space heating device is included by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on their Phase H list, “Residential Wood Heaters,” and which is attached as Exhibit “A” to the ordinance codified in this section.

B. The stove, fireplace, insert or solid fuel space heating device is certified by the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District. (Ord. 454-91 1991: Ord. 418-88 § 1, 1988)

15.32.020 Modification of district certified list of devices.

All devices certified as described in Section 15.28.010 (B) are deemed on the list of devices in Exhibit A of the ordinance from which this section is derived, which may be modified from time to time by resolution of the city council. (Ord. 418-88 Amd. 1 § 1, 1988; Ord. 418-88 § 2, 1988)

15.32.030 Enforcement of violations.

The chapter shall be enforced as a building regulation. Violation of its provisions is a misdemeanor, punishable as provided by law. (Ord. 418-88 § 4, 1988)
