DELINQUENCY PREVENTION COMMISSION

27-1 Establishment.

Pursuant to and in accordance with Section 535.5 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, there is established in the county a delinquency prevention commission. (Ord. No. 332, (part).)

27-2 Purpose.

The purpose of the county delinquency prevention commission shall be to cooperate with and assist in coordinating, on a county-wide basis, governmental and nongovernmental agencies engaged in activities designed to prevent juvenile delinquency. (Ord. No. 332, (part).)

27-3 Membership and appointment.

There shall be fifteen members of the delinquency prevention commission, and the members shall be appointed by the board of supervisors to serve for a term of four years. Two members shall be persons who are between fourteen and twenty-one years of age, provided there are available such persons who are able to carry out the duties of a commission member in a manner satisfactory to the board of supervisors. 27-4 Assistance from county departments and agencies.

All departments and agencies of the county may assist the delinquency prevention commission when such assistance is requested and necessary staff and/or equipment can be made available. (Ord. No. 332, (part).)

27-5 Expense reimbursements.

The members of the county delinquency prevention commission shall be allowed reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as provided in Section 535.5 of the Welfare and Institutions Code. (Ord. No. 332, (part).)

27-6 Effective date.

The ordinance codified in this chapter shall take effect thirty days after its passage and adoption, and the county clerk is hereby directed to cause the ordinance codified herein to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation in the county before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage.
