CHARITABLE SOLICITATION

20.56.010 Purpose.

Any person who conducts a solicitation or sales solicitation for charitable purposes as defined by Section 17510.2 of the Business and Professions Code shall first obtain an operations permit: charitable solicitation. (Ord. 1522)

20.56.020 Issuing authority.

The Director of Police Services is authorized to issue operations permit: charitable solicitation, and to regulate activities thereunder.

20.56.030 Fee.

No fee shall be charged for the issuance of the operations permit: charitable solicitation.

20.56.040 Regulation.

A. The permit shall be issued upon delivery to the Director of Police Services of an example of the card or printed material a seller or solicitor intends to utilize in complying with Section 17510.3 of the Business and Professions Code.

B. The seller or solicitor shall comply with the provisions of Section 17510 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code regulating charitable solicitations.

C. Commercial fundraisers shall demonstrate compliance with Government Code Section 12599.

D. This chapter shall take precedence over and supersedes any other provisions of this title which appear to regulate solicitations for charitable purposes as defined herein. (Ord. 1758)
