40.20.010 Penalty for violation.

It is unlawful for any person or persons, individually, or by association with others, either as owner, principals, clerk, agent, servant or employee, to establish, open, keep, carry on, or maintain, or assist in maintaining any cardroom, or rooms, or other place in the City where any card table or tables or other place designed to be used for playing of card games is or are kept for hire or public use and any person or persons opening, keeping, carrying on, or assisting in carrying on, maintaining, or assisting in maintaining, any such place, herein specified, in the City shall be guilty of an infraction, and every act in violation of this section shall separately, or for each day of its continuance, be deemed a separate offense. 40.20.020 Guilty as principal.

Any clerk, servant, agent, employee, or person committing any act in violation of any of the provisions of CMC 40.20.010 shall be deemed guilty as principal.

40.20.030 Business license.

Every person taking out or having taken out a license for any business for which a license is required by the City, who shall be convicted of establishing, keeping, or maintaining a place where any card table or tables or other place designed to be used for playing of card games are kept for hire or public use contrary to the provisions of this chapter, shall, in cases where such unlawful place has been established, kept or maintained, or such unlawful act has been done in connection with such lawful business, forfeit such license for such lawful business shall be issued to said person during a period of one year thereafter.
