40.68.010 Penalty for shooting.
It is unlawful for any person to fire or discharge any pistol, gun or rifle, or any description of firearm, or any cannon, or other device, loaded with explosive, or shot, or to use any air gun, slingshot, beanshooter, sling, rubber sling, or other device for the propulsion of shot, stones or other similar substance within this City. Any person violating any provision of this section is guilty of an infraction. (Ord. 1400)
40.68.020 Exception.
CMC 40.68.010 does not apply to any Peace Officer while engaged in the official discharge of the officer’s duties.
40.68.030 Confiscation.
Upon conviction of a violation of CMC 40.68.010, the Director of Police Services is hereby authorized to confiscate any article of personal property therein set out used in violation of such section.
40.68.040 Possession of firearms, air guns, pointed missiles, etc., by minors.
A. Except as provided in this section, it is unlawful for any person under the age of 18 to have in his or her possession or control while upon any public street or sidewalk, or in any place open to the public within the corporate limits of the City, any firearm, air gun, sharp pointed missile, dart or arrow, or other device designed for the propulsion of shot, stones, or other similar objects or substances.
B. This section shall not apply to any juvenile while under the lawful and immediate supervision of a parent or legal guardian, or while participating in an organized event requiring the use of such devices, provided there is an adult present to provide supervision. (Ord. 1897)
