48.28.010 Definitions.

“City of Coronado lawn bowling green” means the lawn bowling green that is owned and operated by the City of Coronado located at the corner of Seventh Street and D Avenue in Coronado.

“Lawn bowling” means a game played on a level lawn or green in which players roll bowls as close as possible to a smaller target ball.

“Lawn bowling green” means a designated area designed and constructed for the purpose of playing the game of lawn bowling, also known as bowling on the green. (Ord. 2006 § 1, 2010)

48.28.020 Access and use.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person to use the City of Coronado lawn bowling green for any sport or activity other than playing or practicing the game of lawn bowling, except as authorized in writing by the Director of Recreation Services or his/her designee.

B. It shall be unlawful to mark, disfigure, injure, alter, tamper with, or displace or remove any structure, equipment, facilities or other City property, either real or personal, at the City of Coronado lawn bowling green, except in the course of lawn bowling activities.

C. It shall be unlawful for any person to use the City of Coronado lawn bowling green between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., or after nightfall, except as authorized in writing by the Director of Recreation Services or his/her designee. (Ord. 2006 § 1, 2010).

48.28.030 Penalty for violation.

Any person who violates a provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor except that, notwithstanding such designation, any such violation, in the discretion of the attorney having prosecutorial functions, may be charged and prosecuted as an infraction. (Ord. 2006 § 1, 2010)
