70.90.010 Code adopted.

The California Fire Code (CFC), 2022 Edition, California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 9, as published by the California Building Standards Commission based on the 2021 Edition of the International Fire Code, is adopted and incorporated by reference herein as the city fire code for the purpose of prescribing regulations in the City of Coronado for safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, equipment use, and maintenance of buildings and structures, including that providing for the issuance of permits; from conditions hazardous to life, property or public welfare in the occupancy of structures or premises; and from the construction, extension, repair, alteration or removal of fire suppression, automatic sprinkler systems and alarm systems or fire hazards in the structure or on the premises from occupancy or operation and conditions affecting the safety of firefighters and emergency responders during emergency operations within this jurisdiction. 70.90.030 Amendments.

Section 202 of Chapter 2 of the CFC is hereby amended to change the definition of “fireworks” to read as follows:

FIREWORKS. Fireworks shall mean any composition or device for the purpose of producing a visible or audible effect for entertainment purposes by combustion, deflagration, or detonation, including “safe and sane fireworks” as defined by section 12529 of the California Health and Safety Code, “dangerous fireworks” as defined by section 12505 of the California Health and Safety Code, and fireworks, 1.4G and fireworks, 1.3G as set forth hereafter.

70.90.040 Permit fees.
