6.04.010 Animals ridden, driven or left on sidewalk.

It is unlawful for any person to ride or drive or cause to be ridden or driven any horse or other animal, or to ride, drive or propel, or cause to be ridden, driven or propelled any vehicle upon or along any public sidewalk, or to leave any such animal or vehicle upon any sidewalk, or to leave any such animal or vehicle to stand thereon. 6.04.020 Dangerous animals on streets.

It is unlawful for any person to ride or drive, or to cause to be ridden or driven, any dangerous or unbroken animal upon any public street or to use, or to cause to be used, any such street for the purpose of breaking or training any animal. (Prior code § 6163)

6.04.030 Racing on streets or turning livestock loose.

It is unlawful for any person to race upon any street in this city with any kind of vehicle, or to race with horses or other animals attached to vehicles or ridden, or to turn loose on any street or public place in this city any horse, mule, cow, goat, sheep, hog, turkey, chicken, duck or similar animal or fowls to run at large in or upon the public streets or other public places or to trespass upon the property of another. 6.04.040 Prohibited conduct.

No owner or possessor of any animal shall cause, permit or allow the animal to be upon any public street, sidewalk, park, school ground, any public property, or upon any unenclosed premises in the city unless the animal is properly licensed and saddled, harnessed, haltered or leashed by a substantial chain, lead rope or leash; which chain, lead rope or leash shall be continuously held by some competent person capable of controlling such animal. All cats shall be exempted from the provisions of this section. (Ord. 98-15 § 1, 1998)

6.04.060 Hitching of animals.

It is unlawful for any person to hitch or tie, or cause or permit to be hitched or tied, any horse, mule, cow, pony or donkey or other animal to any post used for the support of any lamp used in lighting any public street, park or place in this city, or to any fire hydrant, water pipe or drinking fountain, or to any tree or shrub in any street, sidewalk, park or public place in this city, or to hitch or tie, or to cause or permit to be hitched or tied any such animal, or allow the same to stand so near to any tree or shrub as to permit or enable such animal to injure or destroy the same.
