2.12.010 Appointment.

The city clerk shall be appointed by the city council. The city clerk shall hold office at the pleasure of the city council. (Ord. 200 § 1, 1980: Ord. 32 § 1 (part), 1971: prior code § 2-301)

2.12.020 Duties.

The city clerk shall perform the duties prescribed by law, including California Government Code, Section 40801 et seq., and such additional duties as may be prescribed by the city council pursuant to law. (Ord. 32 § 1 (part), 1971: prior code § 2-302)

2.12.030 Deputy city clerk.

The city clerk may appoint one or more deputies, for whose acts he/she and his/her bondsmen are responsible. The deputy(ies) shall hold office at the pleasure of the city clerk and receive such compensation as is provided by the legislative body. 2.12.040 Transfer of accounting and financial duties of city clerk to director of finance.

The financial and accounting duties imposed upon the city clerk by Sections 40802 through 40805, and Division 3, Chapter 4, Financial Powers, (Sections 27200 through 27234) of the Government Code are hereby transferred to the director of finance.
