5.40.010 Rules and regulations.

The collector may make rules and regulations not inconsistent with the provisions of this article as may be necessary or desirable to aid in the enforcement of the provisions of this article. He or she shall give notice of those rules in the manner required by law for publication of ordinances. (Ord. 572 § 1 Exh. A (part), 2013: Ord. 45 § 1 (part), 1972: prior code § 4-127)

5.40.020 Enforcement officials.

The collector shall enforce this article, and the chief of police shall render such assistance in the enforcement of this article as may be required by the collector or the city manager or a hearing officer. (Ord. 572 § 1 Exh. A (part), 2013: Ord. 45 § 1 (part), 1972: prior code § 4-128.010)

5.40.030 Business premises—Inspection authorization.

The collector, in the exercise of the duties imposed upon him or her under this article and acting through his deputies or duly authorized assistants, shall examine or cause to be examined all places of business in the city to ensure compliance with this article. 5.40.040 Business premises—Inspection entry right.

The collector and his assistants and any police or code enforcement officer of the city shall have the power and authority (upon obtaining an inspection warrant therefor if required by law) to enter, free of charge and at any reasonable time, any place of business required to be licensed under this article, and demand an exhibition of the license. Any licensee who willfully fails to exhibit the same on demand is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable pursuant to Chapter 1.08 of this code and subject to the penalties provided by this article. 5.40.050 License tax a debt.

The amount of any license tax and penalty imposed by the provisions of this article shall be deemed a debt to the city. An action may be commenced in the name of the city, in any court of competent jurisdiction, for the amount of any delinquent license tax and penalties. (Ord. 572 § 1 Exh. 5.40.060 Remedies cumulative.

All remedies prescribed under this article shall be cumulative and the use of one or more remedies by the city shall not bar the use of any other remedy to enforce this article. (Ord. 572 § 1 Exh. A (part), 2013: Ord. 45 § 1 (part), 1972: prior code § 4-130)
