2.16.010 City Desires Qualification For State Aid:

The city declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the state of California under the provisions of chapter 1 of title 4, part 4 of the California Penal Code. (Ord. 134 §1, 1973)

2.16.020 Adherence To State Standards:

Pursuant to section 13522 of said chapter 1, the city will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California commission on peace officer standards and training. (Ord. 134 §2, 1973)

2.16.030 Level 1 Reserve Officers, Designated:

A.    Pursuant to the provisions of section 832.6 of the California Penal Code, reserve officers of the Greenfield police department, who have met the required peace officers standard training (POST), may be classified as level 1 reserve officers, designated.

B.    A trained reserve officer as described in the California Penal Code section 832.6(a) (1), and who is assigned specific police functions whether or not working alone (830.6(a) (1) or to the prevention and detection of crime and the general enforcement of the laws of this state (830.6(a) (2) whether or not working alone.

C.    The authority of a "designated" level 1 reserve officer, assigned to the prevention and detection of crime and the general enforcement of the laws of this state, shall include the full powers and duties of a peace officer as provided by the California Penal Code section 830.1.
