10-52.010 Adoption of California Green Building Standards Code.
California Green Building Standards Code, 2010 Edition, together with amendments provided in this chapter, is hereby adopted by reference as the green building standards code of the city of Laguna Hills regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the city, of which code not less than one copy has been made and is now filed in the office of the City Clerk; and the same is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein. 10-52.020 Amendments to green building standards code.
Section 202 the following definition is added to Section 202:
SUSTAINIBILITY. Consideration of present development and construction impacts on the community, the economy, and the environment without compromising the needs of the future.
Section 4.304.1 is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced as follows:
4.304.1 Irrigation controllers. Automatic irrigation system controllers for landscaping provided and installed at the time of final inspection and shall comply with the following:
1. Controllers shall be weather- or soil moisture-based irrigation controllers that automatically adjust irrigation in response to changes in plants’ needs as weather conditions change.
2. Weather-based controllers without integral rain sensors or communication systems that account for local rainfall shall have a separate wired or wireless rain sensor which connects of communicates with the controller(s). Soil moisture-based controllers are not required to have rain sensor input.
