PEACE OFFICERS’ STANDARDS AND TRAINING

2.32.010 Purpose.

The city desires to qualify to receive state aid from the state of California under the provisions of Chapter I, Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code. (Ord. 76-14 § 1, 1976)

2.32.020 Adherence to standards.

Pursuant to Section 13522 of Chapter I of the California Penal Code, the city will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. (Ord. 76-14 § 2, 1976)

2.32.030 Police force—Person in control.

The police force of the city shall be under the control and direction of a person appointed by the city manager, such person to have the title as may be approved by the city council. The person appointed shall meet all of the same requirements imposed by law, regulation or guidelines and recommendations as a chief of police established by the California Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training and he or she shall have all of the same rights, responsibilities and privileges as does a chief of police, including those imposed by the Marina Municipal Code.
