DIGGING, TRENCHING AND EXCAVATION AT THE MARINA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

Sections:

15.58.010    Findings and purpose.

15.58.020    Prohibited digging, trenching and excavation.

15.58.030    Signs authorized.

15.58.010 Findings and purpose.

It is found and determined that digging, trenching and excavation at the Marina Municipal Airport is potentially dangerous because it is believed that there may be underground utilities which are either not recorded on available maps or are not locatable through the normal process of contacting Underground Service Alert (“USA”). It is further found and determined that such digging, trenching and excavation could create a hazard to the health, safety and general welfare. (Ord. 2001-01 § 1 (part), 2001)

15.58.020 Prohibited digging, trenching and excavation.

It is unlawful for any person, including utilities, to engage in any digging, trenching or excavation at the Marina Municipal Airport without the express written permission of the director of public works (“director”). In permitting such digging, trenching and excavation the director may impose such reasonable conditions as he deems appropriate. Said permission is intended to supplement the normal process of contacting USA prior to any digging, trenching or excavation and does not eliminate the requirement for such contact. (Ord. 2001-01 § 1 (part), 2001)

15.58.030 Signs authorized.

The director shall post and maintain signs at all entrances to the Marina Municipal Airport in at least one and one-half inch high letters containing the following language: “No digging, trenching or excavation at the Marina Municipal Airport without the express written permission of the director of public works.” (Ord. 2001-01 § 1 (part), 2001)
