10.90.005 Civil penalty.

Any person who violates any provision of this title, except as otherwise provided below, shall pay a civil penalty of one hundred fifty dollars. (Ord. 1408 § 1 (part), 2018: Ord. 1358 § 2 (part), 2013).

10.90.010 Twenty-five dollar fines.

The violation of any of the hereinafter specified sections is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be twenty-five dollars:

10.44.020    Stopping or standing in parkways;

10.44.035    Parking space markings;

10.44.055    Parking parallel on one-way streets;

10.44.070    Parking for demonstration;

10.44.075    All night parking prohibited;

10.44.080    Repairing or greasing vehicles on public streets;

10.44.090    Washing or polishing vehicles for fee;

10.44.105    Curb parking—Right-of-way;

10.44.120    Parking on grades;

10.48.015    Designated parking time zone;

10.48.050    Diagonal parking;

10.48.080    No stopping zones;

10.52.040    Yellow (limited loading) zone;

10.52.050    White zone—Passenger loading zone;

10.52.080    Special passenger loading zones;

10.52.090    Bicycle parking zones;

10.52.100    Funeral zones;

10.64.070    Parking after time expired;

10.64.100    Deposit of coins in meter by unauthorized person.

10.90.020 Fifty dollar fines.

The violation of any of the hereinafter specified sections is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be fifty dollars:

10.43.020    Display of license plates;

10.43.030    Display of tabs;

10.44.040    Parking prohibited;

10.44.045    Curb parking;

10.44.065    Hazardous parking or standing—Blocking public and private rights-of-way;

10.44.100    Parking adjacent to schools;

10.44.110    Parking prohibited on narrow streets;

10.44.140    Emergency parking signs;

10.48.100    Parking by permit;

10.48.120    City, county and emergency vehicle parking zone establishment;

10.52.035    Red zone—Fire hydrant;

10.52.110    Taxicab stands;

10.64.110    Certain uses prohibited;

10.64.130    Designating parking spaces;

10.68.010    Parking on private property;

10.84.015    Parking restrictions.

10.90.030 Seventy-five dollar fines.

The violation of any of the hereinafter specified sections is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be seventy-five dollars:

10.16.070    Obstruction or interference with police or authorized officers;

10.64.090    Improper use of meter.

10.90.035 One hundred dollar fine.

The violation of any of the hereinafter specified sections is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be one hundred dollars:

10.56.050    Prohibited truck parking.

10.90.036 Two hundred fifty dollar fine.

The violation of any of the hereinafter specified sections is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be two hundred fifty dollars:

10.56.040    Restricted streets prohibitions—Exceptions.

10.90.040 Four hundred dollar fine.

The violation of the hereinafter specified section is declared to be an infraction for which the initial penalty shall be four hundred dollars. Fifty dollars of said fine shall be deposited into a separate fund to be used to upgrade city facilities to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

10.50.050    Handicapped parking.

10.90.050 Additional penalties/fees.

A surcharge totaling twelve dollars and fifty cents shall be added to all parking citations in accordance with the California State Budget Act of 2010. This surcharge is a mandatory fee collection that goes directly to the state of California. (Ord. 1413 § 2, 2019).

10.90.090 Corrected violation and penalties.

(a)    Notwithstanding Section 10.90.005, the penalty for the violation of the following section, where a correction has been made, and the correction is verified by the police chief or his/her designate within the time permitted for such correction, shall be seventy-five dollars:

10.43.010    Registration of unregistered vehicles.

(b)    Notwithstanding Section 10.90.020, the penalty for the violation of the following sections, where a correction has been made, and the correction is verified by the police chief or his/her designate within the time permitted for such correction, shall be ten dollars:

10.43.020    Display of license plates.

10.43.030    Display of tabs.

10.90.100 Additional penalties—Extensions to correct certain violations.

(a)    If any penalty provided for in this chapter has not been paid, or a correctable fine has not been corrected within thirty days from the issuance date of a citation as provided in subsection (c) of this section, within twenty-one calendar days of the date of issuance of citation, or fourteen calendar days after the mailing of the delinquent parking violation, an additional penalty of thirty dollars shall be added to the penalty otherwise specified. The police chief or his/her designee shall provide notice to the owner of the vehicle cited that the additional penalty has been imposed.

(b)    After twenty-one days from the issuance of the citation, or fourteen calendar days after the mailing of the delinquent parking violation, if the penalty/penalties imposed has/have not been paid, the police chief or his/her designee shall request the Department of Motor Vehicles of the state of California to put a hold on the registration of the vehicle, unless the violation was for a correctable fine as provided in subsection (c) of this section.

(c)    Where the offense for which the citation is correctable as provided in Section 10.90.090, the person cited will be allowed thirty days from the issuance date of the ticket to correct the violation. If a correction is made within the time allowed, then the penalty shall be as otherwise specified. If the correction is not made within the time allowed, then the penalty or penalties shall be as otherwise provided. (Ord. 1408 § 1 (part), 2018: Ord. 1358 § 2 (part), 2013).
