7.44.010 Organized camp defined.

“Organized camp” means a site with a program and facilities established for the primary purposes of providing an outdoor living experience with social, spiritual, educational or recreational objectives, for five days or more during one or more seasons of the year. The term “organized camp” does not include a motel, tourist camp, trailer park, mobile home park, resort, hunting camp, auto court, labor camp, penal or correctional camp, or a child care institution. The term “organized camp” also does not include any charitable or recreational organization which complies with rules and regulations for recreational trailer parks set forth in the California Health and Safety Code. 7.44.020 Permit—Required.

No person shall operate an organized camp without a permit from the Health Officer. The Health Officer shall issue a permit if the Health Officer finds that the applicant has complied with all applicable laws. [Ord. 5324 § 5, 2020; Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.010].

7.44.030 Permit—Application.

Applications for a permit to operate an organized camp and for renewal thereof shall be filed with the Health Officer upon such forms as the Health Officer may prescribe. [Ord. 5324 § 5, 2020; Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.030(a)].

7.44.040 Permit—Fees.

The permit fee for the calendar year or any part thereof during which the permitted activity is carried on and for renewal thereof shall be that established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. [Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.030(b)].

7.44.050 Permit—Plan check charge.

The applicant shall pay the plan check charge established by resolution of the Board. [Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.030(c)].

7.44.060 Permit—Expiration and renewal.

Each permit shall expire on December 31st of the current year; provided, such permit may be renewed without penalty on or before February 15th next following the expiration date. [Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.030(d)].

7.44.070 Permit—Delinquency penalty.

Permittees who do not renew the permit on or before February 15th shall pay the extra amount established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. [Ord. 1662, 1971; prior code § 11.60.030(e)].
