1.38.010 Designated.

Those certain premises in the Hall of Justice Building of the city of South Gate, California, located at 8620 California Avenue within said city, and which said premises have heretofore, since January 17, 1950, been used and occupied as a city jail in and for said city, and which said premises so heretofore used as such city jail are more particularly described as follows:

All that portion of the ground floor of the Hall of Justice Building of the city of South Gate, California, at 8620 California Avenue within said city, which is designed as quarters and accommodations for prisoners, including the cell blocks and quarters of the police department, and the holding room of the municipal court in said building, shall be and the same is hereby designated and established as the city jail of, in and for the city of South Gate, California, and the said portion of the said building is hereby named, designated and established as the city jail of, in and for the city of South Gate, California, and the said portion of the said building is hereby named, designated, fixed and established as the city jail of, in and for said city.

1.38.020 Approval and ratification of prior use.

All designations, previous references to, and prior use of, said portion of said Hall of Justice Building hereinabove described in Section 1.38.010 of this chapter as the city jail of, in and for said city, be and the same are hereby approved, ratified and confirmed by the city council of said city as being in fact true and correct.
