6.43.010 Adoption of Los Angeles County Ordinance No. 97-0071.

Subject to the changes and amendment set forth in this chapter, the Los Angeles County Ordinance No. 97-0071, adopted by the Los Angeles County board of supervisors on December 16, 1997, and as amended through and including February 28, 1998, is adopted by reference as the food establishment health code for the city of South Gate. Said County Ordinance No. 97-0071 amends Titles 8 and 11 of the Los Angeles County Code relating to the operation of food establishments and the certification of food handlers. Copies of County Ordinance No. 97-0071 shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk of the city, and are open to public inspection.

6.43.020 Definitions.

For the purpose of this chapter, unless it is plainly evident from the context that a different meaning is intended, certain words, terms and phrases used in the food establishment health code (Los Angeles County Ordinance No. 97-0071) shall respectively mean as follows:

1.    "County" or "county of Los Angeles" shall mean the city of South Gate.

2.    "Health officer" or "county health officer" means the health officer of the city of South Gate.

6.43.030 Penalty—Violations.

Violation of any provisions of the food establishment health code shall be punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or both. Each day during any portion of which any violation of any provisions of the food establishment health code is committed or permitted, shall be deemed to be a separate offense.
