CHAPTER 11. COMMERCIAL USE OF CITY HALL

3-11.01 Definitions.

a. City Hall Area shall mean that area of the first floor of the Walnut Creek City Hall, including but not limited to the lobby area, the area adjacent to the City Council chambers and elevators and the area adjacent to the Police Department but specifically excluding the City Hall Council Chambers. The term shall also refer to an area extending 35 feet from the perimeter of the building, including the front and back entry doors of the Walnut Creek City Hall, and shall also include all fixtures and appurtenances within the City Hall area.

b. Commercial Use shall mean the conducting of activities of a commercial or for-profit nature, whether conducted by an individual, corporation, association or partnership or that speech or activity which is generally connected with trade, commerce or business, including the parking of vehicles in the City Hall parking lot which are or may be used in conjunction with such commercial activities.

3-11.02 Prohibited Activity.

a. No notices or signs, including but not limited to papers, announcements, documents or flyers advertising a commercial use, activity, event or enterprise shall be posted, affixed, taped or placed in any portion of the City Hall area as that term is defined herein.

b. All commercial activity is prohibited in the City Hall area as that term is defined herein. (§1, Ord. 1899, eff. 2/6/97.)
