10-3.01 City parks and designated skate park.

(a)    No person shall ride a skateboard, in-line skates, or roller skates in any temporary or permanent City park unless that person is wearing a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads that are designed for skateboarding, in-line skating and roller skating.

(b)     Skateboarding, in-line skating and roller skating are subject to park rules and regulations in Chapter 10-2.

(c)     Any person riding a skateboard, in-line skates, or roller skates shall be courteous and shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians in City parks. Any person riding such devices shall do so in a manner and only on areas as to prevent property and structural damage to City parks and designated skate park. The riding of such devices shall not interfere with entry or exit from the parks or any buildings in the parks.

(d)     Exceptions. No person shall use or ride a skateboard, in-line skates, or roller skates in any City park during City-authorized special events, unless expressly allowed by the event.

10-3.02 Signs.

Signs shall be posted with two (2") inch letters at City parks as notice to any person that they must wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and be courteous, yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, and comply with this chapter.

10-3.03 Violations.

Any person violating Section 10-3.01 shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1-2. Violation of this chapter is an infraction.
