6.20.010 Swimming in Ellis and East Lakes prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to swim, ski, wade or have body contact in the waters of Ellis and East Lake, located in the city, except by special permission granted by the city council after a request in writing is officially filed in the office of the city clerk and approved by the council. (Ord. 1178 § 2, 1993: Ord. 770 § 1, 1969).

6.20.020 Boating prohibited—Exception.

It is unlawful for any person, firm, partnership or corporation, except the city for maintenance purposes, to launch, place or operate any motor-driven boat in the Ellis and East Lakes located in the city except by special permission granted by the city council after a request in writing is officially filed in the office of the city clerk and approved by the council. (Ord. 815 § 1, 1971: Ord. 770 § 2, 1969).

6.20.030 Prohibited discharges into storm drainage system.

It is unlawful for any person to discharge or to cause or permit to be discharged any of the following materials into the storm drainage system of the city:

(1)    Gasoline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil, used motor oil, and/or other flammable liquid or gas;

(2)    Any waters or wastes containing toxic or poisonous solids, liquids or gases;

(3)    Any water and/or waste containing fats, wax, grease, or oils;

(4)    Any water containing synthetic detergents;

(5)    Any chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, degreasers, and detergent residues;

(6)    Any cement, ashes, cinders, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, fruit pits, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, paunch manure or any other solid or viscous substance;

(7)    Any suds or filthy water resulting from the washing of clothing, garbage or other material from kitchen or other foul or filthy matter;

(8)    Any other garbage, offal, animal waste, and refuse. (Ord. 1052 § 1, 1986).

6.20.040 Violations and penalties.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of an infraction, punishable on the first offense by a fine of one hundred dollars and on each subsequent offense by a fine of one hundred fifty dollars. (Ord. 1160 § 14, 1993).
