2.04.010 Municipal elections.

Beginning with elections held after March, 2005, the general municipal election for the city council shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year beginning November, 2006. (Ord. 04-3: prior code § 2.131)

2.04.020 Meeting place designated.

Meetings of the city council shall be held in the council chambers at the Carnegie Building, 1360 Oak Avenue, St. Helena, which place the city council designates as its meeting place. (Prior code § 2.1)

2.04.030 When regular meetings to be held.

A regular meeting of the city council shall be held at the hour of seven p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. When such day falls on a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held at the same hour on the next succeeding business day. (Prior code § 2.2)

2.04.040 Vacancy filling.

Any vacancy on the city council, except the position of mayor, may be filled either by appointment by the city council within thirty (30) days after the vacancy occurs, or by a special election called by the city council. A person appointed to fill a vacancy on the city council holds office only until the date of the special election called to fill the remainder of the term. (Prior code § 2.70)

2.04.050 City council salary.

Each member of the city council shall receive three hundred dollars ($300.00) each month as salary. (Prior code § 2.71)

2.04.060 Powers vested in city council as redevelopment agency.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 33200 of the Health and Safety Code the city council declares itself to be the redevelopment agency and to have all the rights, powers, duties, privileges and immunities vested by law. (Prior code § 11A.3)
