2.08.010 Mayor’s term of office and duties.
A. As determined by the electors in the general municipal election held on November 2, 1976, the city shall have an elected mayor who shall serve a two-year term of office. Except where the city council may provide otherwise by ordinance that the instruments described in subsections (A)(1), (2) and (3) of this section be signed by an officer other than the mayor, the mayor shall sign:
1. All warrants drawn by the city treasurer.
2. All written contracts and conveyances made or entered into by the city.
3. All instruments requiring the city seal.
B. The mayor may administer oaths and affirmations, take affidavits, and certify them under his hand.
C. The mayor may acknowledge the execution of all instruments executed by the city and required to be acknowledged.
D. The mayor, with the approval of the city council, shall make all appointments to boards, commissions, and committees unless otherwise specifically provided by state law. (Ord. 11-1 § 1: prior code § 2.130)
