The office of library director is created. The director shall be appointed and supervised by the city manager as set forth in Section 2.12.060(B)(2). (Ord. 01-10 § 7 (part): prior code § 2.150)
2.32.020 Duties.
The library director shall:
A. Plan, organize, administer, review and evaluate the activities of the library professional and support staff; select staff and provide for their training and professional development;
B. Direct the preparation and administration of the library budget and oversee administrative programs and procedures;
C. Establish a collection development policy and act as final authority on selection of titles and materials to be added or deleted from the collection;
D. Direct and guide the library or organization to change as necessary to remain responsive to community needs;
E. Ensure that the library fully utilizes current information systems and keeps abreast of new advances in library-related technologies;
F. Serve as staff to advise and support the library board of trustees as well as advise and support the Wine library board of trustees and serve as liaison for the Silverado Museum with the city of St. Helena;
G. Perform such other functions as the city council, library board or city manager may from time to time specify. (Ord. 01-10 § 7 (part): prior code § 2.151)
