SPEED LIMITS

10.08.010    Prima facie speed limit of twenty-five miles per hour on city streets.

10.08.010 Prima facie speed limit of twenty-five miles per hour on city streets.

A.    Except as may otherwise be determined and declared in this chapter, the prima facie speed limit on all public streets of the city is declared to be twenty-five (25) miles per hour.

B.    The prima facie speed limit on Main Street (State Highway 29) shall be as established by the state.

C.    Except as may otherwise be determined and declared in this chapter, the prima facie speed limit on private roads open for public use as established in Section 10.20.020 of this code shall be twenty-five (25) miles per hour. (Ord. 06-10 § 2; prior code § 10.8)

10.08.020 Increase of prima facie speed limits on certain streets.

On the basis of engineering and traffic surveys, and in accordance with provisions of the California Vehicle Code, the following prima facie speed limits are determined and declared:

A.    On the following streets or portions of streets, the prima facie speed limit is thirty (30) miles per hour:

1.    Madrona Avenue between Hudson Avenue and Reisling Way.

B.    On the following streets or portions of streets, the prima facie speed limit is thirty-five (35) miles per hour:

1.    Pratt Avenue between Main Street and the easterly city limit;

2.    South Crane Avenue between Grayson Avenue and Sulphur Springs Avenue.

C.    On the following street or portion of street, the prima facie speed limit is fifteen (15) miles per hour when children are present:

1.    Oak Avenue between Adams Street and Spring Street. (Ord. 06-10 § 1; prior code § 10.9)
