4-3 Cancellation of Election

A.    In a coordinated election, if the only matter before the electors in the City in a nonpartisan election is the election of persons to municipal office and if, at the close of business on the sixty-third (63rd) day before the election, there are not more candidates than offices to be filled at the election, including candidates filing Affidavits of Intent, the City Clerk shall cancel the election and declare the candidates elected.

B.    In a municipal election, if the only matter before the electors in the City is the election of persons to municipal office and if, at the close of business on the nineteenth (19th) day before the election, there are not more candidates than offices to be filled at the election, including candidates filing Affidavits of Intent, the City Clerk shall cancel the election and declare the candidates elected.

C.    Notice of such cancellation shall be published, if possible, and shall be posted at City Hall and at one other public place.
