13-5 Dedication and Width of Streets and Alleys

A.    All streets and avenues in the City of Ouray, situated on the east side of the Uncompahgre River, shall be of the uniform width of one hundred (100) feet, and all alleys in the City of Ouray shall be of the uniform width of sixteen (16) feet.

B.    All streets and avenues in the City of Ouray, situated on the west side of the Uncompahgre River, shall be of such width, not less than sixty (60) feet, as may be determined by resolution of City Council at the time the same are established and opened.

C.    All thoroughfares, except alleys in the City of Ouray, running north and south, shall be known as streets, and designated by numbers; commencing with the thoroughfare on the west line of Blocks 2 and 3 of said City, which shall be designated as First Street, and thence eastward increasing in numerical order, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, etc. Excepting from the above shall be that portion of the alley within the Parkview subdivision between parcels 1 and B, which shall be designated as Sam Fellin Court; that portion of the alley within Block 30, which shall be designated as Ski Hill Lane; that portion of Fifth Street adjoining Block 31, which shall be designated as Miners Cabin Lane; that portion of Sixth Street within the Verges subdivision, east of Block 37, which shall be designated as Easy Street; that portion of Sixth Street within the Zanett subdivision, east of Block 36, which shall be designated as Hillcrest Court; and that portion of street previously dedicated as 9th Avenue Court within the Shultis subdivision, north of Block 16, which shall be designated as Potosi Place.

D.    All thoroughfares, except alleys in the City of Ouray, running east and west, shall be known as avenues, and designated by numbers; commencing with the thoroughfare running along the south line of Blocks 1, 15, 23, 31 and 39, which shall be designated as First Avenue, and thence northward, increasing in numerical order as Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, etc. Excepting from the above shall be that portion of Second Avenue adjoining Block 38 which shall be designated as Skyjal Court.

E.    First Street, from Second to Fourth Avenues, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

F.    Second Street, from Second Avenue to the north line of the City of Ouray, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

G.    Third Street, from Second Avenue to the north line of the City of Ouray, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

H.    Fourth Street, from Second Avenue to the north line of the City of Ouray, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

I.    Fifth Street, from Second Avenue to Eighth Avenue, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

J.    Sixth Street, from Third Avenue to Sixth Avenue, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

K.    A public thoroughfare commencing on the west side of the Uncompahgre River, at a point in the east line of the Whippoorwill Lode, fifteen (15) feet south of the northeast corner of said Lode, thence running north to the City limits, is hereby established and opened for public use, to be known and designated as Oak Street, which said Oak Street shall be of the uniform width of sixty (60) feet. The above designated line is hereby declared to be the eastern boundary of said Street.

L.    Second Avenue, from First to Fifth Streets, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

M.    Third and Fourth Avenues, from First to Sixth Streets, are hereby established as public thoroughfares and declared to be open to public use.

N.    Fifth Avenue from low water mark on the east side of the Uncompahgre River to a point five hundred (500) feet east of the east line of Sixth Street, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared open to public use.

O.    Sixth Avenue, from Oak Street on the west side of the Uncompahgre River to Sixth Street, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare and declared to be open to public use.

P.    Seventh and Eighth Avenues, from Second to Fifth Streets, are hereby established as public thoroughfares and declared to be open to public use.

Q.    An alley, sixteen feet in width, running north and south through the center of every block in the platted portion of the City of Ouray, is hereby established as a public thoroughfare, and declared to be open to public use, and an alley sixteen feet in width is hereby established as a public thoroughfare, commencing on the south line of Fifth Avenue one hundred forty-two (142) feet east of the east line of Sixth Street, and thence running south three hundred (300) feet, and commencing on the north line of Fifth Avenue, one hundred forty-two (142) feet east of the east line of Sixth Street, and then running north three hundred (300) feet which said alley is hereby declared to be open to public use.
