14-9 Off-Highway-Vehicle Operation Prohibited

A.    It shall be unlawful for any person to operate an off-highway vehicle on any City street, alley, or other city-owned property except in the following cases:

1.    When crossing streets or when crossing roads, highways or railroad tracks in the manner provided in C.R.S. 33-14-112;

2.    When crossing a bridge or culvert;

3.    During special off-highway vehicle events lawfully conducted pursuant to authority granted by City Council;

4.    During emergency conditions declared by the City;

5.    Upon off-highway vehicle routes designated by City Council resolution or ordinance;

6.    When using an off-highway vehicle for agricultural purposes.

7.    When using an off-highway vehicle for the purpose of clearing snow from any City street, alley or other City-owned property, or while in transit on any City street, alley or other City-owned property to clear snow from any City street or alley or private property.

8.    When operating an off-highway vehicle: (a) on the property west of Lots 10, 11, and 12, Block 1, City of Ouray, and bounded on the north, south, and west by U.S. Highway 550; (b) from such property to cross U.S. Highway 550 to Ouray County Road 361; (c) upon Ouray County Road 361.

B.    For the purposes of this Section, off-highway vehicles shall be defined in C.R.S. 33-14.5-101(3).
