8.05.010 Intent and purpose.

It is the intention of the sanitary board of the West County Wastewater District to protect public health and safety through regulation of connections to its public sewer system by enforcement of regulations to promote sound construction, good workmanship, proper operation and elimination of health hazard from defective sanitary sewers and appurtenances. 8.05.020 Authority.

This title is adopted pursuant to provisions of Section 6400, et seq. of the Health and Safety Code of the state of California. [Ord. 3-23-71 § 1-2]

8.05.030 Jurisdiction.

The jurisdiction of the West County Wastewater District shall include the sewer system and appurtenant connections thereto within its political boundaries or service areas. No portion of this title, regulation or administration thereof shall be construed to regulate or prescribe standards for the installation of plumbing, with the exception of special sewage disposal related facilities including, but not limited to, sewage ejectors, backflow protectors, industrial and commercial waste treatment facilities, and oil and grease interceptors within buildings and structures within the boundaries of the West County Wastewater District. 8.05.040 Maintenance of building sewers.

It is the responsibility of the property owner benefited therefrom to maintain in good repair his building sewer in its entirety from the wye or point of connection with the public sewer to the building served, regardless of whether said building sewer is located in a public street, alley, easement or other location off of owner's property. [Ord. 3-23-71 § 1-4]
