5.05.010 Permit required.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to hold or conduct a garage sale, yard sale, porch sale or other similar event within the city, unless a permit has first been issued from the Clerk-Treasurer. [Ord. 1244-2006; Ord. 536, 1978. Code 2000 § 110.01(A); Code 1981 § 5.04.010.]

5.05.020 Fee.

The Clerk-Treasurer shall issue such permit upon payment of $10.00; provided, however, no charge shall be made if the applicant is a charitable, religious or educational organization as determined by the Clerk-Treasurer. 5.05.030 Period of validity.

A permit so issued shall be valid for the time specified in the permit but in no event for more than three successive days. [Ord. 1244-2006; Ord. 536, 1978. Code 2000 § 110.01(C); Code 1981 § 5.04.030.]

5.05.040 Maximum number of permits issued.

No more than two permits shall be issued to any person, firm or corporation within the same calendar year. [Ord. 1244-2006; Ord. 536, 1978. Code 2000 § 110.01(D); Code 1981 § 5.04.040.]

5.05.050 Violations.

Any person, firm or corporation who holds or conducts such sale or event without having first obtained a permit is guilty of an offense and shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 1.15 AMC. [Ord. 1244-2006; Ord. 536, 1978. Code 2000 § 110.01(E); Code 1981 § 5.04.050.]
