10.05.010 Definitions.

(A) For purposes of this chapter, the meanings and phrases as defined in IC Title 9 are adopted by reference as if set forth at length herein.

(B) For the purpose of this title, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

“Curb loading zone” means a space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of materials.

“Park” means, when prohibited, the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading.

“Stop” means, when required, the complete cessation of movement. [Code 2000 § 70.01; Code 1981 § 10.04.010.]

10.05.020 Official time standard.

Whenever certain hours are named in this title they shall mean standard time or daylight savings time as may be in use in the city. [Code 2000 § 70.02; Code 1981 § 10.04.020.]

10.05.030 State licenses required – Exception.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep, store or maintain or suffer or permit to be kept, stored or maintained upon any premises owned or controlled by such person, firm or corporation, and located within the city, any automobile unless the same is currently licensed under the laws of the state; provided, however, that such prohibition shall not apply to automobiles kept, stored or maintained in a garage or other building or enclosure. 10.05.040 Application to animals and animal-drawn vehicles.

Every person propelling any pushcart or riding an animal upon a roadway, and every person driving any animal-drawn vehicle, shall be subject to the provisions of this title applicable to the driver of any vehicle, except those provisions which by their nature can have no application. 10.05.050 Application to public employees.

The provisions of this title shall apply to the driver of any vehicle owned by or used in the service of the United States government, the state, county or city, and it is unlawful for any driver to violate any of the provisions of this title except as otherwise permitted in this title or by state statute. 10.05.060 Obedience to police and Fire Department officials required.

No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of a police officer or Fire Department official. [Code 2000 § 70.06; Code 1981 § 10.04.130.]
