The compilation contains the substance of charter ordinances as adopted by the governing body, but enacting clauses, exemption clauses, publication clauses and signatures have been omitted to conserve space. Section numbers have been changed to conform to a consistent format. Complete copies of each ordinance as adopted are on file in the office of the city clerk and secretary of state. The derivation including the effective date of each section is shown in parenthesis at the end of the text. Catchlines have been added where necessary. Obvious misspellings have been corrected without notation. For stylistic purposes, a uniform system of citations to state statutes has been used. Other material added for clarity is enclosed by brackets.
