ARTICLE III. STADIUM EVENTS, ATHLETIC CONTESTS AND EXHIBITIONS

14-156 Invading event, athletic contest or exhibition area prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to invade the playing area of any athletic contest, or the entertainment, stage or performance area of any stadium, event or exhibition, while such contest, event, performance or exhibition is in progress or at any other time without the permission of the owner or manager of the premises or his designee. This section shall not apply to the participants or officials in such contest, exhibition, event or performance, nor to the owner or manager of the premises and his designees.

14-157 Entering with beverage containers or other missile-like objects prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to enter any stadium where athletic contests, exhibitions or events are being, or are about to be, conducted with beverage containers or other objects suitable to use as a missile in his possession.

14-158 False reports of emergencies prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly utter by spoken word or otherwise any false statement or report in or about, or by communication directed to, any stadium or place of entertainment or place of exhibition, which, if believed, would indicate that the premises, building, structure, patrons, spectators or performers are in imminent danger.

14-159 Throwing of beverage containers or other missiles prohibited.

(a)    It shall be unlawful for any person to cast, throw, hurl or fling any bottle, can, receptacle, beverage container, or any other object or missile which could cause injury or damage in the spectator area where any athletic contest or exhibition or other performance is conducted, or into or upon the area used for the conduct of such contest, exhibition or other performance, before, during or after such contest, exhibit, or other performance.

(b)    It shall be unlawful for any person to own, possess, carry, use, ignite, or control in any manner whatsoever any firework, any flare, any open flame, or any type of explosive device unless licensed to do so by the Silverdome on the licensed premises of the Silverdome, or inside the Silverdome building itself, at anytime before, during or after any contest, exhibit, or other performance is conducted.

14-160 Spectators entering stadium with alcoholic beverages prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person who is entering a stadium to be a spectator to carry into or transport into such stadium any alcoholic beverages.

14-161 Occupying seat or area without permission prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to occupy a seat or an area of any stadium or other place of exhibition, athletic contest or entertainment, for which a ticket or payment is required for such occupancy, to do so without either having a ticket or having made payment for the occupancy of such seat or area, unless permission for such occupancy was given to the occupancy by the person to whom the ticket was issued or by the person who made payment for the occupancy or by the owner or manager of the premises or designee thereof.

14-162 Entry with laser pointer, laser sights, flashlights or any other similar type devices prohibited.

(a)    It shall be unlawful for any person to enter any stadium, building, or other place open to the public where athletic contests, any exhibit, or other event are being, or are about to be conducted with any laser pointer, laser beam, laser sights, infrared lights of any kind, flashlights, or any other similar type devices which emit light or beam of any color or type.

(b)    Any object(s) confiscated as evidence of this crime, or of a violation of any other section of this Code, shall be held until final disposition of the case and, if the person is convicted of such crime, or of any aiding or abetting crime related to this matter, such object(s) shall be destroyed.

(c)    Any person found violating this Code in this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500.00 and/or community service or probation.
