12.10.010 Addressing.

The grid and mile marker system shall be the approved method of addressing in the Village and some outlying areas. [Ord. 181 § 1, 1994].

12.10.020 Addressing method.

All lots, occupied buildings and houses shall be numbered according to their distance from the starting point of the road upon such lot, occupied building or house fronts or is provided access. [Ord. 181 § 2, 1994; Ord. 156 § 1, 1989].

12.10.030 House numbering required.

All the lots, buildings and houses shall be numbered. It shall be the duty of the owner and occupant of every house and occupied building to have placed upon their house or building fronts or is provided access, figures at least two and one-half inches high as prescribed by an approved plan, the assigned number of the house or occupied building. 12.10.040 Street names.

All streets have been named prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter and are still in effect. [Ord. 181 § 4, 1994].

12.10.050 Restrictions.

Only persons authorized by the Village may install or erect street signs. No person shall alter, change or otherwise deface a street name sign which exists in accordance with the official street name, maps and this chapter. [Ord. 181 § 5, 1994].

12.10.060 Street numbers on file with village clerk-administrator.

The village clerk-administrator shall keep a chart showing the proper street numbers of every lot in the Village which shall be open to inspection by anyone interested. [Amended during 2014 codification; Ord. 156 § 2, 1989].

12.10.070 Enforcement.

Enforcement of this chapter shall be by the chief of police filing a complaint with the municipal judge of the Village of Cimarron. [Ord. 181 § 6, 1994].

12.10.080 Penalties.

Any person, firm or corporation failing to so number any house or building owned or occupied by it, or after receiving notice to do so by the chief of police shall continue to fail to so number the same shall be subject to a fine of $5.00 for each day during or on which a failure to do so continues.
