5.10.010 Title.

This chapter may be cited as the “garage, rummage, and secondhand merchandise sales permits ordinance.” [Prior code § 7-5-1]

5.10.020 Requirements.

All persons including charitable bodies or institutions holding garage sales, rummage sales or sales of secondhand merchandise shall obtain a permit for such sales from the town clerk-treasurer. [Prior code § 7-5-2]

5.10.030 Limitations.

There shall be no more than two such sales by a family within a period of six months. Sales by charitable bodies or institutions are excluded from this section. [Prior code § 7-5-3]

5.10.040 Signs.

Signs for the garage sales, rummage sales, or sales of secondhand merchandise will be displayed only in places approved by the town and shall be removed at the end of such sales. [Prior code § 7-5-4]

5.10.050 Fee.

There shall be no fee imposed on such sales. [Prior code § 7-5-5]

5.10.060 Fines.

If the board of trustees determines by a majority vote that the above section or sections have been violated, then the violator shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300.00. [Prior code § 7-5-6]
