10.25.010 Effect of regulations.

A. No parent of any minor child and no guardian of any minor ward shall authorize or knowingly permit any such minor child or ward to violate any of the provisions of this title.

B. Except as otherwise provided herein, every person riding or operating a bicycle upon any street or other public place in the city shall be subject to all the provisions of this title and the laws of the state of Oregon applicable to the drivers of vehicles, except those provisions which by their very nature can have no application. 10.25.020 Brakes.

Every bicycle operated upon the streets in this city shall be equipped with brakes adequate to control the movement of and to stop and to hold such vehicle. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 46.]

10.25.030 Rental agencies.

A rental agency shall not rent or offer any bicycle for rent unless the bicycle is equipped with all equipment required by the motor vehicle laws of Oregon and this title. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 47.]

10.25.040 Speed.

No person shall operate a bicycle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions then existing. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 50.]

10.25.050 Racing.

No person shall engage in, or cause others to be engaged in, any bicycle racing upon the streets or other public places in this city. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 51.]

10.25.060 Riding on sidewalks.

No person shall ride or operate any bicycle upon a sidewalk in a business district. Any person riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall give audible signal before overtaking and passing such pedestrian. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 53.]

10.25.070 Parking.

No person shall park a bicycle upon a street or upon a sidewalk except in a rack to support the bicycle or against a building or at the curb in such manner as to afford the least obstruction to pedestrian traffic. [Ord. 61-O-157 § 54.]
